How Plantronics headset passed away

I am using Bluetooth headsets for business conversation and i need a good quality of sound. I had tried numerous brands and found that Plantronics is the best. I purchased Plantronics Voyager with a flexible part connecting a microphone and a speaker. This flexible part teared after half a year. I bought another one Voyager Pro HD. The same story! In three years all four died in the same way (see arrows below)

This time i decided to buy Voyager Edge with a hope that a lack of a flexible wire will resolve the issue.
